Multiple units were dispatched to reports of a house fire at approximately 8:42 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Multiple calls were received by the Pinellas County Regional 911 center with reports of a house fire at 9842 54th Avenue N.
Arriving firefighters from the City of Seminole Fire Rescue reported smoke and flames showing upon arrival. Firefighters entered the home in an attempt to search for any occupants that may have failed to exit the home. Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were able to confirm that all occupants safely exited the home.
The fire continued to burn in the attic and an aerial apparatus (Truck 29) was put into service to flow water into the burning roof of the home. The fire was brought under control but the home appeared to be a total loss.
Two residents were being evaluated at the scene by medical crews and no serious injuries were reported.
City of Seminole firefighters were assisted by crews from Madeira Beach, Pinellas Park, and Lealman.
The immediate cause of the fire was readily available and the investigation continues. Many witnesses stated the fire appears to have started in the garage area of the home.
