Officers from the Clearwater Police Department responded to an apartment in the 1200 block of Pierce Street at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020.
In addition, crews from Clearwater Fire & Rescue were dispatched based on the initial information that an individual was stabbed at the location.
Upon arrival officers located an adult male victim with an apparent stab wound to the upper body.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and transported him to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Officers questioned 36 year-old Trudy Strause of Safety Harbor who remained at the scene. She was taken into custody and booked on charges of attempted murder in the first degree.
