Scooter operator critically injured in crash with City of St. Petersburg truck

St. Petersburg Police Department is currently investigating a crash between a scooter and a truck from the the City of St. Petersburg.

According to the department, the crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m., when the truck struck the scooter at the intersection of 5th Avenue S and 31st Street.

The scooter operator an adult man, suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The intersection was closed for several hours during the on-scene investigation.

It has been almost 13 years since the inception of IONTB.
