Firefighters battle structure fire involving home in Seminole

Firefighters from the Pinellas Suncoast and Seminole Fire Departments were called to reports of a structure fire at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021.

Neighbors called 911 to report the fire and heavy smoke in the area of 131st Street and 86th Avenue. The fire involved a home at 13315 84th Terrace N.

Arriving units reported fire through the roof and immediately went into a defensive mode.

The fire was brought under control in about 35 minutes. Firefighters will remain onscene for the next several hours.

The house was unoccupied at the time of the fire with the family reportedly in Louisiana. The home is typically occupied by a husband, wife, daughter and grandchild, according the Seminole Fire Chief Heather Burford.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
