St. Petersburg Police investigating a second shooting incident last night

Officers from the St Petersburg Police Department are currently investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of 16th Street S.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

Investigators say that the victim, an adult male, was walking in the rear parking lot of the Ana Food Store, 1401 16th St. S., when another man approached him. There was an altercation and the man shot the victim.

The victim is being treated at the hospital with critical injuries.

It is early in the investigation but the police say that they have no reason to believe this shooting is related to the shooting on Coquina Key earlier in the day.
