Motorcyclist dead after crash on 38th Avenue in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating a fatality crash involving a motorcyclist that occurred on February 18th, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m.

Investigators say that 26 year-old Soulaymen Mhidra of St. Petersburg was operating a 2009 Honda motorcycle westbound on 38th Avenue North in the curb lane at a high rate of speed.

At the intersection of 45th Street North, the motorcycle went down onto its right side and struck a wooden sign in front of Clearview Church.

No other vehicle was involved.

Mhidra was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition and pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The case remains under investigation.
