Officers assigned to the Largo Police Department’s Tactical Apprehension and Control (T.A.C.) team and Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) unit arrested 51 year-old Steven Tincher of Largo.
In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 31, 2022, a residential search warrant was executed at the home on Lauren Drive.
At the time of the search, 4 adults were inside the residence and cooperated with law enforcement.
According to investigators, Tincher was interviewed and admitted to using multiple user accounts within the past 2-3 years to receive images of child pornography.
Tincher also admitted to sharing these images with other users on the social media platform. Some of the images were of children that appeared to between 5 and 6 years of age.
The investigation began in December 2021, after a Largo Police Detective received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) as part of his duties in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force and opened an investigation for content related to child pornography. The report was filed by a social media company and revealed that the offender, Steven Tincher, used multiple accounts to receive and upload images of child pornography.
Tincher was arrested on 4 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and 6 counts of Transmission of Child Pornography.
This incident is still active pending forensic review of the evidence retrieved from the search warrant.
