Investigation in St. Pete Beach after two pedestrians struck and killed

Deputies assigned to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded to a crash that killed two pedestrians.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 4506 Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach.

Upon arrival to the scene, first responders located two pedestrians, an adult male and an adult female, with critical injuries. They were transported to HCA Pasadena Hospital where they both died from their injuries.

According to investigators, 51-year-old Jennifer Perman was driving southbound on Gulf Boulevard in a 2016 GMC Yukon XL, in the curb lane.

Two pedestrians, 61-year-old Brian Allen and 63-year-old Jane Allen were crossing Gulf Boulevard from east to west, not in a designated crosswalk. Investigators say the couple was struck by the Yukon in the southbound curb lane.

Investigators say speed and impairment are not factors in this crash for the driver.

All southbound lanes of Gulf Boulevard were closed for several hours between 46th Avenue and 44th Avenue.

Additional information if/when released by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
