Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a home at 675 Newton Avenue South at approximately 3:26 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Officers located a deceased female in the home, later identified as 54-year-old Sherry Lynn Howard.
Investigators arrested her sister, 39-year-old Charee Howard, at the scene and charged her with 2nd Degree Murder.
The two sisters lived together in the home. No one else was present at the time.
This case is still an active investigation, and the Medical Examiner must still determine the cause of death.
According to arrest information, Charee called 911 and stated she had just killed her sister by choking her. Officers discovered Sherry lying on the floor just inside the front door with injuries consistent with her sister’s statement.
