StarLite Cruises passenger vessel up against Corey Causeway in St. Pete Beach, minor injuries

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) received a report of a boat up against the Corey Causeway in St. Pete Beach. Crews from multiple fire rescue departments, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, and USCG responded to the scene at approximately 10:13 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

The 113-foot vessel, the Starlite Sapphire Dining Yacht, with over 90 passengers, was located up against the south side of the causeway. At this time, only two minor injuries have been reported.

First responders discussed how to proceed and safely evacuate the passengers from the vessel. At approximately midnight, the vessel was able to move away from the causeway under its own power.

There are no reports of significant damage to the vessel or the causeway.
