St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Extinguishes Blaze at 40th Ave South Home

Firefighters from the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue (SPFR) responded to a fire at a single-family home in the 800 block of 40th Ave South around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames and quickly worked to extinguish the fire before it could spread further.

The occupants escaped safely before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

The fire reached the attic, but crews managed to contain it to the back half of the structure. Despite their efforts, the home suffered significant damage.

A fire investigator is currently determining the cause of the fire. Firefighters remain on the scene to assist the victims.
