On Monday, August 26, 2024, at approximately 3:22 PM, a traffic collision occurred on Trinity Boulevard involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Pasco County school bus.
The motorcycle, operated by a 16-year-old male from Odessa, was traveling eastbound on Trinity Boulevard. Ahead of him, a Pasco County school bus, driven by a 62-year-old man from Land O Lakes, was also traveling eastbound. The bus was transporting 42 middle school students at the time.
As the vehicles approached a pedestrian crosswalk east of Sweetspire Drive, traffic, including the school bus, came to a stop. The motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the bus.
The bus driver and the students were unharmed in the incident. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
