Pinellas Park Police Investigate Fatal Crash Involving a Pedestrian on Gandy Blvd

Pinellas Park, FL – Westbound Gandy Boulevard has reopened following an investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, near the intersection of Gandy Blvd North and Grand Ave North.

According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling westbound on Gandy Blvd when it struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk. The adult male pedestrian, crossing against a “Do Not Cross” signal, was hit by the front of the truck, which had a green light.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. No criminal charges will be filed.

The initial investigation led to an extended road closure, but officials have since reopened the roadway.

This incident remains under review by the Pinellas Park Police Department.
