Fatal Crash in St. Petersburg Involving PSTA Bus and SUV

ST. PETERSBURG — Crews from St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle crash involving a PSTA bus and an SUV on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and 28th Street North. According to information provided, a PSTA passenger bus driven by a 38-year-old man from Pinellas Park, was traveling westbound on Roosevelt Boulevard and was stopped at a red traffic signal at the intersection of Lake Carillon Drive.

Heavily damaged bus following the collision

Despite the red signal, the bus turned left into the path of a Nissan Armada driven by a 57-year-old man from Clearwater, which was traveling eastbound on Roosevelt Boulevard. The Armada and bus collided.

Upon impact, the unrestrained bus driver was ejected from the vehicle. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

A passenger in the Nissan Armada, a 57-year-old Clearwater woman, suffered critical injuries and was transported to the trauma center at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she later died.

The incident remains under investigation.
