A 62-year-old man from Largo died following a crash that occurred on March 21, 2026, at approximately 11:10 a.m. along southbound Interstate 275.
According to authorities, the man was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound on I-275 when, just south of Milepost 30, he lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason. The pickup truck left the roadway and traveled onto the shoulder, where it struck a traffic sign support pole.
Following the collision, the vehicle caught fire.
Emergency responders transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment. He later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
