Pinellas Deputy Hospitalized After Crash During Active Call for Service

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night while on scene for an unrelated call, according to investigators.

Deputies were initially dispatched to an animal-related call at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the area of 10715 104th Street. During that investigation, Deputy Jason Anderson was struck by a vehicle at approximately 9:45 p.m. The driver and the vehicle remained on the scene.

Anderson was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg as a trauma alert with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident occurred during an active call for service and stated that no additional information will be released on Thursday night.

Detectives with the Major Accident Investigation Team are conducting the investigation.
