PUBLIC STATEMENT OF COUNTRYSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Regarding Arrest of Former Employee David Reitmeyer

Countryside Christian Church is deeply grieved and disturbed to learn that former employee David Reitmeyer has been charged with criminal offenses involving the alleged possession and distribution of child pornography. These allegations are serious, heartbreaking, and entirely contrary to the mission, values, and biblical convictions of Countryside Christian Church.

Mr. Reitmeyer previously served as the Church’s IT Director and, in that role, had responsibilities involving the Church’s information technology systems. Immediately upon learning of the criminal charges, Countryside Christian Church took decisive action to protect the Church, its members, its children, and the broader ministry community. Mr. Reitmeyer’s employment was terminated, he was removed from any and all positions of responsibility within the Church, and he will not be permitted to return to the Church campus or participate in any Church ministry activities.

The safety and protection of children is, and will remain, one of Countryside Christian Church’s highest priorities. The Church has zero tolerance for any criminal, abusive, exploitative, immoral, or inappropriate conduct, particularly any conduct involving children or vulnerable individuals. Countryside Christian Church is committed to maintaining a safe ministry environment, following appropriate policies and procedures, and responding promptly and responsibly to any allegation or concern involving child safety.

Because Mr. Reitmeyer worked in the Church’s IT department, Countryside Christian Church immediately retained an independent outside information technology company to conduct a review of the Church’s systems, servers, and related technology infrastructure. The Church has also implemented additional security measures, administrative access controls, password resets, and independent IT oversight to further strengthen and protect its technology systems. Based on the information presently available, there is no indication or allegation that any illegal material was stored on Church premises, stored on Church servers, accessed through Church systems, or distributed using Church information technology resources.

Countryside Christian Church does not condone, conceal, minimize, or excuse criminal conduct. The Church fully supports the proper role of law enforcement and will cooperate with appropriate government authorities as necessary and appropriate. Any known or suspected criminal conduct involving children should be reported immediately to law enforcement and the proper child-protection authorities.

Countryside Christian Church is also mindful that this is an active criminal matter being handled by law enforcement and the courts. The Church will not interfere with that process, speculate regarding facts beyond what is known, or make statements that could compromise any investigation or legal proceeding. The Church will continue to follow its policies, consult with appropriate professionals, cooperate with authorities, and take all necessary steps to protect children, families, members, staff, volunteers, and the Church community.

We ask our Church family to join us in praying for all who may be impacted by this matter. Our commitment remains firm: Countryside Christian Church will continue to stand for truth, accountability, transparency, lawful cooperation, and the protection of children.

Because this is an active criminal matter, Countryside Christian Church will not provide further public comment at this time.
