A Clearwater police officer suffered minor injuries after a man allegedly intentionally rammed a marked patrol vehicle at a Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard intersection shortly before midnight Friday evening.

According to Clearwater Police, the incident occurred near U.S. 19 when an officer was stopped at a red light in a marked Ford F-150 patrol truck. Investigators say 28-year-old Garrett Burr of Fort Myers, driving a 2025 Kia Soul, deliberately accelerated and struck the police vehicle.
