Two Pedestrians Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck that struck two pedestrians Friday night and fled the scene.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 49th Street North and 40th Avenue North.

According to police, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man were walking southbound along the east side of 49th Street North and were crossing 40th Avenue North when they were struck.

Investigators say a white pickup truck traveling south on 49th Street North made a left turn onto 40th Avenue North and struck both pedestrians. The driver did not stop and continued eastbound on 40th Avenue North.

Both pedestrians were transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries. Police said both were in stable condition.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white, single-cab pickup truck with an extended bed, possibly a Ford F-150 or Ram. Investigators believe the truck should have damage to the front.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash and is asking anyone with information about the driver or vehicle to call 727-893-7780.
