ST. PETERSBURG — A driver was killed early Sunday morning after losing control of a vehicle and crashing along Park Street North.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:55 a.m. on September 27, 2026, near 33rd Avenue North and Park Street North.
According to police, a silver Kia Spectra was traveling northbound on Park Street North at an excessive rate of speed when the driver attempted to change lanes and lost control of the vehicle.
The Kia left the roadway and struck a speed limit sign and a utility pole before rolling over. The vehicle then struck a telecommunications box and a tree.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the driver has not been released.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
