A 65-year-old Pinellas Park man was killed early Sunday morning after police say an SUV turned in front of his motorcycle and then fled the scene in St. Petersburg.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. on September 27, 2026, at 4th Street North and 9th Avenue North.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the man was operating a black Suzuki motorcycle southbound on 4th Street North.
A dark-colored Mercedes SUV was traveling northbound on 4th Street North when the driver turned westbound onto 9th Avenue North in front of the motorcycle, causing the crash.
Police say the driver of the Mercedes fled westbound on 9th Avenue North following the collision.
The motorcyclist was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg, where he later died from his injuries.
