A 24-year-old Pinellas Park man was arrested after deputies say he fled an attempted traffic stop at speeds exceeding 90 mph before crashing into a pickup truck on Seminole Boulevard Saturday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. on September 26, 2026, near Seminole Boulevard and 110th Avenue North.
According to a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit, Seneca Eamon Decastro was driving a 2026 Tesla westbound on 102nd Avenue North when he turned northbound onto Seminole Boulevard and failed to stop at the traffic light. A deputy who observed the violation made a U-turn and positioned his marked patrol vehicle behind the Tesla.
The deputy attempted to catch up with the vehicle, which investigators say was accelerating above the posted 45 mph speed limit. The deputy reported reaching approximately 70 mph while the Tesla continued to pull away.
The deputy activated his emergency lights and siren in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. According to the affidavit, Decastro rapidly accelerated and changed from the center lane to the right lane while continuing northbound on Seminole Boulevard.
As Decastro approached 110th Avenue North, he faced a red traffic signal. At the same time, a black pickup truck was attempting to cross Seminole Boulevard on 110th Avenue North from east to west.
Deputies say Decastro continued through the red light and struck the pickup truck. Investigators allege the Tesla was traveling in excess of 90 mph while actively fleeing immediately before the collision.
The impact caused the pickup truck to spin approximately three times before coming to rest.
Two occupants of the pickup truck were injured and transported to local hospitals. A passenger in the Tesla was also injured and transported to a hospital.
Decastro was arrested and charged with felony fleeing or eluding at high speed or with wanton disregard.
