Police announced that Barber was charged with murder and transported to the Orient Road Jail.

Acting Tampa Police Chief Brett Owen condemned the violence, saying disagreements should never end in the loss of a life.

The department’s victim advocate will work with the woman’s family and loved ones to connect them with available resources.

Police described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
