A 30-year-old woman remains in critical condition after she was shot and run over by a vehicle during a domestic-related incident in downtown Safety Harbor on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2026.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 9 p.m. near the Harbor Bar, located at 840 Main Street. Investigators determined that the shooting occurred at the southwest corner of 9th Avenue South and Main Street, just west of the establishment.
Detectives say that at approximately 8:45 p.m., 40-year-old Christopher “Dodge” Smith entered the Harbor Bar, leaving his five-year-old daughter and the family’s dog in the parking lot. Smith later exited the bar with his girlfriend, 30-year-old Jessica Antolini. The two were observed arguing outside.

During the altercation, Smith allegedly shot Antolini before fleeing the scene in his vehicle with his daughter and dog. Investigators say Smith also ran over Antolini with his vehicle as he fled.
Multiple witnesses called 911 to report the shooting and provided deputies with information about Smith’s vehicle.
First responders arrived and located Antolini suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she remains hospitalized in extremely critical condition, with grave concerns about her prognosis.

Deputies located Smith’s vehicle shortly after in the Tarpon Woods area, near Valemoor Drive and Ridgemoor Boulevard. Smith surrendered to deputies during a traffic stop and was taken into custody without further incident.
Deputies found his five-year-old daughter and the family dog safe inside the vehicle and reunited them with family members.
Smith was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with attempted murder in the first degree and child abuse.
A large law enforcement presence remained at both the shooting location and the area where Smith was apprehended as investigators processed the scenes, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed available evidence.
The investigation continues.
