The Traffic Homicide Unit of the Largo Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash near Bluffs Drive and Indian Rocks Road shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023.
The incident involved a 2022 Lexus Rx350 traveling northbound on Indian Rocks Road, just north of Bluffs Drive, which was rear-ended by a 2022 Indian Scout motorcycle.
The driver of the Lexus, a 64-year-old male, did not sustain any reported injuries. However, a female passenger experienced minor injuries.
The motorcycle driver, who remains unnamed as the next of kin and has not yet been located, was not wearing a helmet and suffered severe life-threatening injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
According to the Largo Police Department, the preliminary investigation suggests that speed and alcohol contributed to the motorcycle driver’s involvement in the accident.
