Attempted Robbery Leads to One Person Being Shot in St. Petersburg
Shortly before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, 25 year-old John Alam entered a house at 1401 28th St. North, with the intent to rob the victims.
Investigators say that this was a drug related incident.

Several men in the home wrestled with Alam which resulted in Nicholas Stoufer being shot in the arm.
The men in the home held Alam down until police arrived.

Stoufer’s injuries are not life threatening.
Alam was treated for injuries he received during the scuffle with the victim before he was taken to the Pinellas jail.
He is charged with home invasion robbery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
