Bicyclist killed after being struck by three vehicles in Bradenton

BRADENTON – A bicyclist was struck by three vehicles and pronounced dead in Bradenton early Friday morning.

The incident happened on 53rd Ave. E. (SR 70) just east of 11th Street Circle E. about 6 AM. FHP says the victim, a 55-year old man from Bradenton was crossing the street when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old man from Bradenton.

An SUV driven by a 53-year-old man from North Port swerved but also collided with the victim who was then struck by a 3rd vehicle which left the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information on the 3rd vehicle is urged to contact authorities. The investigation kept SR 70 closed for several hours.
