Bicyclist killed after being struck by three vehicles in Bradenton

BRADENTON – A bicyclist was struck by three vehicles and pronounced dead in Bradenton early Friday morning.

The incident happened on 53^rd Ave. E. (SR 70) just east of 11^th Street Circle E. about 6 AM. FHP says the victim, a 55-year old man from Bradenton was crossing the street when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old man from Bradenton.

An SUV driven by a 53-year-old man from North Port swerved but also collided with the victim who was then struck by a 3^rd vehicle which left the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information on the 3^rd vehicle is urged to contact authorities. The investigation kept SR 70 closed for several hours.
