St. Petersburg police are investigating a crash involving an SUV and a bicycle.
Shortly after noon, a northbound white SUV struck a bicyclist in the 2800 block of Dr. MLK St. North.
The bicyclist died at the scene. Police say the driver stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim in today’s crash involving an SUV and a bicyclist has been identified as 25 year-old Anne McLaughlin.
The preliminary investigation indicates that McLaughlin was riding her bike in a marked crosswalk in the 2800 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Street North, when a white Chevrolet driven by 44 year-old Brian Doughty Jr. struck her.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Dr. Martin Luther King Street North is now open to traffic in both directions.
