Bicyclist seriously injured in hit and run crash in Palm Harbor

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are seeking the driver and vehicle involved in a hit and run crash that injured a bicyclist. The crash occurred at approximately 11:07 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Tampa Road and Belcher Road.

The bicyclist, 74 year-old Ali Yalcon of Palm Harbor, was traveling southbound on Belcher Road in the left turn lane at Tampa Road.

As the helmeted bicyclist was turning left under a green signal so as to travel eastbound, the hit and run vehicle overtook and collided with the rear of the bicycle.

Following the crash, the vehicle fled the scene and was described as a silver Toyota SUV.

Yalcon was transported to Mease Countryside with serious injuries.
