Bicyclist struck and killed by a vehicle on Palm Harbor Boulevard near Ohio Avenue

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a crash that killed 55-year-old Daniel Bamman of Palm Harbor. The crash occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

According to FHP, the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Alt 19 (Palm Harbor Boulevard) in the bike lane, parallel with the northbound lane, approaching Ohio Avenue.

The 41-year-old driver of an SUV was traveling westbound on Ohio Avenue, stopped at the intersection of Alt 19, and proceeded to make a right turn onto Alt 19 North.

The bicyclist continued across the intersection, entered the path, and was struck by the SUV.

Transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, the bicyclist later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
