Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Hit and Run Driver Wednesday Morning on Ulmerton Road

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is currently on-scene of a hit and run crash that killed a 62 year-old man riding his bicycle in the bike lane on Ulmerton Road.  The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

According to FHP, an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Ulmerton Road when it struck the bicycle that was traveling westbound on Ulmerton road just east of 58th Street N.

The bicycle and the man landed in the roadway and were subsequently struck by a 2011 GMC SUV driven by a 30 year-old man from Trinity, FL.

The bicyclist died at the scene.

Currently there is no description for the suspect hit and run vehicle or its driver.
