The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) continues to investigate a crash involving a Road Ranger on I-275 in Hillsborough County.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 near mile marker 57 on I-275.
A Road Ranger stopped to investigate after seeing an abandoned 2001 Dodge Durango on the southbound outside shoulder.
The Road Ranger, 38 year-old Jeffery Morgan of Valrico, stopped directly behind the Durango.
Troopers say that 32 year-old Daria Gredysa of Lodi, New Jersey was traveling southbound in a 2017 Subaru Impreza. The vehicle behind Gredysa, a 2012 Chevy Traverse operated by 35 year-old Keymo Pearson of Wesley Chapel, attempted to overtake the Subaru at a high speed.
The Chevy collided with the rear of the Subaru sending it into the two vehicles stopped on the side of the roadway.
The Chevy came to rest in a retention pond along the highway shoulder.
Pearson was cited for careless driving. Only the Road Ranger, Morgan, was transported to the hospital. His injures were classified as minor according to Troopers.
