Child struck and killed by a vehicle on East Bay Dr in Largo

Officers from the Largo Police Department responded to a crash on Saturday, October 10. 2020 at approximately 7:25 p.m..

The incident involved a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash on East Bay Dr just west of Highland Ave. 

According to investigators, the pedestrian was crossing northbound when he stepped into the roadway and into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The pedestrian, a juvenile male, was transported to Largo Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

Alcohol is not a factor in this crash, police say.

The roadway has been re-opened but the investogation continues.
