Children Injured After Being Struck by a Car in St. Petersburg

The St. Petersburg Police Department is on the scene of a crash involving two children in the 2700 block of 18th Avenue S.

According to investigators, a silver 2000 Toyota Celica, driven by a 28 year-old man was eastbound on 18th Avenue South.

Two female juveniles, ages 13 and 6, were crossing 18th Avenue South.

It is unclear at this time, if both juveniles were struck with the vehicle; however, the six year-old was struck by the vehicle and has life threatening injuries.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.  The investigation is
still on going at this time.
