Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Belcher Road between Druid Road and
Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard at 9:22 p.m. in Sunday, April 7, 2019.
The pedestrian, identified as 61 year-old Chris Michael McCabe of Clearwater, was transported to Morton
Plant Hospital. McCabe died as a result of his injuries.
According to investigators, McCabe attempted to cross Belcher Road with his wife when he was struck by a southbound car on Belcher Road.
The two were not in a crosswalk at the time.
The driver of the 2004 Honda Pilot that struck McCabe was a 49 year-old Clearwater woman.
