Clearwater police investigating after pedestrian critically injured in crash

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 on Court Street east of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The pedestrian was identified as 65 year-old Timmy Parker of Clearwater. Investigators say Parker was struck by an eastbound 2018 Toyota Camry as he walked southbound across Court Street and not in a marked crosswalk. The 72 year-old male driver of the Camry remained on the scene following the collision.

Parker was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert and remains in critical condition. Investigators noted that impairment is thought to be a factor on the part of the pedestrian.
