Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a pedestrian involved crash on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard just west of Lake Avenue.
The crash occurred at approximately 10: 20 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021.
The pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene. He has been identified as 45 year-old Michael Patte of Woodstock, Ill. He was struck by a 2015 Ford F-250 truck driven westbound by a 22 year-old male from Clearwater.
Police say that Patte was walking south across Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, wearing dark clothing and not in a crosswalk, when he was struck. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
All lanes of Gulf-to-Bay reopened early this morning.
