Crash on Southbound I-75 in North Port Kills Three and Injures Two

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are currently on-scene of a fatality crash blocking all southbound lanes of I-75 near mile-marker 177 in North Port.

Road closures continued for many more hours during the investigation and eventual cleanup of the roadway.

The roadway reopened about 1:30 PM.

The crash occurred shortly after 5 AM on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Motorists were being diverted at mile-marker 179 and routed onto N Toledo Blade Blvd.

FHP is reporting that three people have died and two other were injured in the crash.
