Crews On-scene of a Fire in Wesley Chapel that Resulted in a Fatality

A second victim has died from injuries sustained from yesterday’s mobile home fire on Penny Royal Rd in Wesley Chapel.

The elderly male that was transported by bayflite to a local burn unit passed
away overnight from his injuries.

At approximately 10:30 AM, on March 4th, 2019, Pasco County Fire 911 received
a call of a reported home fire in the 5900 block of Penny Royal Rd in Wesley
Chapel.

When Firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported a single-wide mobile
home with fire shooting from all sides. Firefighters also reported one elderly
male outside the house that was severely burned. Firefighters on the scene
called a trauma alert for the elderly male found in the yard of the home and
requested transport by a medical helicopter to a local burn unit where he
later died.

Due to the amount of fire found upon arrival a defensive attack was called.
After the initial knockdown, and search of the home, one elderly female and a
dog were found deceased in the home.
