Diamond Ring Snatched from Woman After Trying to Sell it on the App Letgo

David Geneus, age 19 of St. Petersburg, was arrested after police say he snatched a diamond ring from a woman at a Pinellas Park Walmart.

Geneus was arrested on December 7, 2017 in reference to the incident that occurred at 12:46 p.m. on June 16, 2017.

Police say the Geneus arrived at the Walmart located at 7500 66th Street after arranging to meet a woman on the App Letgo.  The meeting was for the sale of a 1 1/2 ct diamond ring.  Geneus reportedly grabbed the ring from the woman’s hand while throwing counterfeit money with asian writing on it before feeling in a friend’s vehicle.

Pinellas Park Police say Geneus admitted to the robbery after being identified by the victim and by a photograph taken at the time by the victim’s friend.

He also admitted to a similar robbery being investigated by Largo Police.
