Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are currently investigating a hit-and-run crash. The crash occurred on Thursday evening at approximately 11:06 PM.
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over the driver of a 2003 Acura SUV.
The vehicle entered the parking lot of 11775 Seminole Boulevard (Seminole Subs & Gyros) and collided with a raised concrete curb, shrubs and a tree.
The driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot eastbound from the crash scene.
The suspect, 34 year-old Douglas Edward Matthews, was described as a white male, thin build, 175 pounds, and approximately six feet tall.
