According to St. Petersburg Police, due to a large fuel spill, all eastbound lanes of Gandy Blvd will be closed between Dr. MLK Jr. Street N. and 2nd Street N for 2-3 hours.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is assisting the St. Petersburg Fire Department with traffic.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue reports that approximately 200 gallons of diesel fuel was spilled from a portable fuel tank that fell off a construction vehicle while it was being transported.

Eastbound traffic on Gandy Blvd is closed down while crews clean up the spill.

Drivers are urged to access Gandy by taking 83rd Ave N to San Martin Blvd NE.
