Elderly man dies two weeks after vehicle crash on Tyrone Boulevard

In an update from the St. Petersburg Police Department, an 85-year-old man died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash that occurred two weeks ago.

At about 4:57 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, 85-year-old Calvin Dickinson drove a red Kia Sportage eastbound on Tyrone Boulevard North, approaching 68th Street N.

Dickinson attempted to make a left turn onto 68th Street North and entered the path of a black Dodge Charger traveling westbound on Tyrone Boulevard North. The vehicles collided.

Dickinson was transported by ambulance to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.
The other driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Dickinson passed away Tuesday, April 30th, as a result of his injuries.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed.
