Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department continue to investigate a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
The crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2023.
The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver traveled southbound in the 7900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St N. The driver turned east into the shopping center at 79th Avenue North and was struck by a Yamaha motorcycle operated by 28-year-old Benjamin Gallaugher.
Gallaugher was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later
died on May 7th from the injuries he suffered during the crash.
According to investigators, the driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The investigation is still ongoing.
