Mr. Odell was the driver of a Dodge Ram Truck that was traveling southbound on 71st Street N.  He attempted to pass another southbound vehicle and in doing so traveled onto the east shoulder of the roadway.  He over-corrected and traveled back across the roadway, rotated clockwise and traveled into a culvert.  Once hitting the culvert, the vehicle became airborne and overturned then collided with a utility pole.  As the vehicle overturned, Mr. Odell was ejected from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries.  The passenger sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash.
