John Edward Valentine, age 50 of Odessa was killed in a crash at approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018. His 54 year-old female passenger, Diane L. Burkhardt Mier, on the 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle was critically injured and transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa.
Eugenio Clerge, age 57 of Brooksville, was traveling southbound on Asturian Parkway, intending to make a left turn onto eastbound SR-54 in a 2015 Chevy Express.
According to troopers, Valentine was traveling westbound on SR-54 approaching Black Lake Road. The driver of the Chevy reportedly turned into the path of motorcyclist.
As a result, the front of the Chevy collided with the front left of the motorcycle.
According to FHP, charges are pending and both motorcyclists were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
