Fire erupts in dust vacuum at Bolection Door in Pinellas Park

Units from Largo Fire Rescue, Pinellas Park Fire Department, and Lealman Special Fire Control District were dispatched to a structure fire.  The call for service came in on Tuesday afternoon just prior to 4 pm.

There was a report of a fire sprinkler activation at the Bolection Door Facility.  The facility is located at 11200 69th Street N in Pinellas Park.  Arriving units observed light smoke showing from the dust collection vacuum unit attached to the manufacturing facility.  The occupants of the building were evacuated into nearby parking lots.

The fire was contained to a dust vacuum unit.  Firefighters undertook the painstaking and lengthy process of removing all of the individual filters within the unit.  This process required a continual swap out of fresh crews to continue the lengthy activity.

This facility experienced the same type incident in July 2013.  That incident resulted in a two-alarm fire.
