At approximately 12:45 p.m., on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, crews from the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Department responded to 501 62nd Ave N for reports of black smoke coming from a building under construction.
The general contractor reported the building is under construction for the new YMCA and Riviera Middle School. Crews utilized an aerial ladder truck to find 50 square foot area of fire isolated to the roof.
The fire was extinguished with the aerial ladder truck.
No injuries to construction workers or fire personnel. The fire is currently under investigation.
