Pedestrian struck and killed crossing Ulmerton Road in Largo

The Largo Police Department (LPD) Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatality crash involving a pedestrian.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 in the area of
Fountain Way and Ulmerton Road.

According to investigators, a westbound SUV struck an adult female pedestrian, which witnesses stated had darted into the path of the vehicle while not in a marked crosswalk. The driver remained on scene and impairment was not a factor with the driver, according to LPD.

The pedestrian was transported to HCA Florida Largo where she later died from her injuries.

All westbound lanes of Ulmerton Road were closed for several hours at Tall Pines Drive during the investigation.
