Firefighters were dispatched to the Tsunami Japanese Steakhouse at approximately 6:11 a.m. on Friday March 4, 2022. The call for service at 2176 Tyrone Boulevard was in response to heat/smoke detector activation at the restaurant.

Arriving crews to the restaurant reported heavy smoke coming from the roof the structure.

As firefighters began to pull some ceiling the smoke production increase significantly and black smoke became more intense. Due to the risk to the firefighters inside the restaurant, they retreated and moved to extinguish the fire from the exterior of the structure only.
